White Marble Chips, prized for its many uses has been quarried for thousands of years. The Romans and Greeks used it for sculpting and architecture. Today marble is quarried all around the world and is used to create giant monuments, it is used in building, even down to applications as simple as kitchen counter tops.

Bi-products of the mining process are the small white marble stone chips. This rock is screened to separate it into desired sizes, washed, then loaded onto rail cars and shipped to Carroll’s Building Materials.

Marble is classified as a metamorphic stone, which means that it has changed composition over time from one type of rock to another. Under intense heat and pressure limestone or dolomite recrystallize as marble.
